Mats

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2-1/8 yds. 55" outdoor fabric
  • 2 yds. of 24" wide 1" high NuFoam&® cushion
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

(all seams 1/2")

1. Cut two fabric pieces 73-1/2" x 25-1/2".
2. Pin all edges right sides together.
3. Leaving an 18" opening at the bottom – stitch all edges.
4. To square corners, fold out each corner centering seams – stitch 3/4" seam perpendicular to seams.
5. Turn.
6. Insert NuFoam&®.
7. Slip stitch opening.

Pillows

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2/3 yd outdoor fabric
  • 20" pillow form
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine
  • Iron & pressing surface

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut one 21" square for front and cut two pieces 14 1/2"X21" for envelope back.
2. Finish one 21" edge of each back piece.
3. Place pillow front face up and overlap both back pieces and place right sides down with finished edges to center.
4. Stitch all four sides.
5. Turn right side out & press.

Movie Screen and Curtains

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 9 yds. of 45" blue star fabric - curtains
  • 1-1/2 yds. of 109" wide white fabric – screen
  • Three 10' conduit pipes
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

(seam allowance 1/2")

1. Cut two curtain side panels 108" x 44".
2. Finish long sides – turn under 1/4" then 1" and edgestitch.
3. Hem bottom of each panel – turn up 1/2", then 3" and edgestitch.
4. Valance – Cut seven 44" x 18" panels.
5. Sew together all 18" sides of panels forming one long valance.
6. Finish both 18" ends same as step 2.
7. Pin and baste one end of valance on top of one curtain panel top matching finished edges.
8. Repeat with other end of valance and remaining curtain panel.
9. Turn under ½", then 3" on top for casing.
10. Gather onto 10' conduit pipe.
11. Cut fabric 86" by 109" (width).
12. Finish both 86" sides – turn under 1/4", then 1" and edgestitch.
13. Hem both the top and the bottom – Turn under 1/2", then 3" and edgestitch.
14. Slide onto 10' conduit pipe, one at the top, one at the bottom.
15. Curtain and screen need to be hung for Movie Night. Trees, side of house or another structure are good places to hang them from.

HOLLYWOOD Sign

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Paper mache letters to spell "HOLLYWOOD"
  • White spray paint
  • Newspaper to cover work space

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place letters on covered work area outside.
2. Spray sides and front of letters. Allow to dry.
3. Repeat step 2 until pint thoroughly covers letters.
4. Hang on bushes, fence or other surface.
