I love this yarn & was sad they don't stock them in the stores locally anymore! Seems that whatever project i make, I always seem to choose the spa, great colors & very soft to the touch!
I absolutely love this yarn. It's easy to work with, silk soft to handle. Making a lightweight sweater from Quince "Knitbots Essential". Love, love, love it! Can't say enough about it. I wish the Joanns store would have it in stock locally again.
I bought this yarn for a vest I made (and then a scarf because I loved it so much) and it really is beautiful yarn. It's silky and soft, has a wonderful sheen, and the colors are gorgeous! the weight is perfect for accessories and apparel because it's not too big but big enough it's easy to work with. The reason for only 4 stars though is because the yarn really does split pretty bad while working with it, and if you aren't paying attention... you will miss some of your stitch and have what looks like a snag. If you don't mind paying closer attention, then you won't have a problem. It's my favorite yarn I've tried so far.
Spa yarn is wonderful to handle and creates a superior drape effect for shawls and scarves. It is soft to the touch and has an elegant sheen. Unfortuneatly, Joann's is no longer carrying it in my local stores, so I will have to buy online. Yarn enthusiasts generally prefer to handle the merchandise before purchasing, but this one yarn I know will always be of high quality and beauty!
i crochet about 5 sweaters for my grand daughters and friends it turned out gorgeous, beautiful sheen drape and defintions, it went on sale and i bought everything on the shelf, wish i can show the sweaters i made with it people gaga over it, my favorite yarn
Yes, the yarn splits, and I can't knit or crochet with it without looking at what I'm doing. That said, a minimal amount of extra effort is all it takes to succeed. I just finished my third project with Spa, each in a different color. The finished result was outstanding, on each one. The colors are gorgeous, and they catch the light beautifully. They are feather-weight (even the largest, 7' wide shawl) and they drape like a dream. I recommend re-rolling the skeins before use, to keep them from tangling.
Continuation from earlier review. Arrived at store trying to find 11 skeins same color lot. Store does not carry also will not guarentee color lots on special orders. Uuuggghhh. Back home to order online from another retailer. I follow the cardinal rule of knitting and always buy PLENTY of yarn in the same color lot.
I have bought, so far, one skein to knit swatches wash up and see how it performs. I have loved this yarn. I agree with other reviewers about the tendency to split but I quickly got the hang of it. My experience has been that it knit nicely with good stitch definition. I've played around a bit with different size needles and am thrilled with the finish and drape. I am heading out this afternoon to buy more for a sweater.
