Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slip through works better If you ammend the directions to snip and slip through for the fringe/edges it looks better and holds together better in the wash. (Cut a 1/2 inch slit in each of the 1" fringe pieces and just slip each pair through it's own hole)(The nice lady at JoAnn helped me with the new step)). And, don't buy the kit, just get the fleece you want and put it together. I am a craft-challenged 30 year old guy and my first blanket took me one try, and an hour and a half. Great finished product!!

Cut a 6in. x 6in. square from each corner, throw the square you cut out away.{for longer fringe cut 7in x 7in squares, for shorter, harder to tie fringe cut 4in x 4in squares} 3.Start at a 6in. cut out & cut strips 1 in wide x 6 in deep around entire blanket. 4. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Help with Directions, Please :) I'm very interested in making this fleece throw as it does look very easy until .... Directions #2. It says, "Cut a 7" square out of each corner of both pieces." Huh? It then goes on to explain cutting the fleece to make the fringe, nothing more about these cut out squares. To anyone who has made this throw, would you be kind enough to help me with this? I've a good background in sewing but I can't understand this part. Is it maybe a misprint you think? In the picture of the throw, although you can't see the entire piece, I can't see that there are any open cut out squares in the corners. It's got to be a misprint or else maybe I'm having a senior moment. haha. Thanks for any help! Helen :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from its sew ez I have made this several times, even one for me. I got twice the amount neede and kept it on the fold then I only fringed 3 sides. but my friend made them for her grandchildren and one of them untied one of the short edges so she could crawl insdie. I guess it made it feel like a HUG from her grandma.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Missing step I've made this project a few times with great results. I recommend layering the fleece wrong sides together "before" cutting and cutting fringe through the double layer of fleece. You don't have to reposition the fringe, etc. It eliminates that step completely. I made one for my 9 year old nephew for Christmas with a print on one side that he won't outgrow when he gets in his teen and young adult years. He loved it and so did his mom!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Sew Fleece Throw I am planning on making two small additions to this project: 1) to add a thin layer of batting inside, and 2) to use embroidery thread to tie through the centers in various places in order to hold the batting and fleece together. It gets very cold in Texas in the winter and I'm hoping the batting makes these throws even cozier. I hope I can find fleece I like. The quilts are for gifts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RE: incomplete instructions amy 12.30.07, I just made my first no sew blanket tonight, and I thought I'd try to help. You put the fabrics "wrong side together" so that the RIGHT SIDES are facing out. This is NOT one that you turn inside out when it's done, because it's already right side out. It's as simple as the directions say. Just tie the knots all the way around and you're done! Good luck.
