It was a full 1/8" off. This was visible looking just looking at it. I returned mine. I would not buy online again. Would consider if I could look at the edge before buying.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inaccurate The lip concept is great and helps hold the ruler, but the lip is not square to the edge, therefore, the ruler is out of square by 1/8" at the end of the 18" ruler. I had to use my radial arm saw and set up a jig to cut the lip square to the edge, now the ruler works great and it is accurate when cutting fabric.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from The lip keeps the ruler straight. Best ruler ever!! My 12 year old lip ruler was dropped and needed to be replaced so I purchases 4, 2 for my granddaughters and 2 for me. We all just love them. The lip keeps the ruler straight and it never slips.
