Three mats clip together to form one 35"x70" mat. Perfect for larger projects and the seamstress. Mat is made of the same high quality self healing material. Markings are 1" grid on all four sides, 1/4" hash marks on all four sides and 8 bias diagonals. Grid is continuous once clipped together. Convenient storage size when not "clipped".

Invaluable!
It took me a while to pull the trigger on this cutting mat due to its price, but when it went on sale I just had to get it. My previous Olfa mat was ruined in a recent move and this time I wanted to go bigger so that I had the maximum cutting surface possible while still keeping with the quality of Olfa. I am so pleased with my purchase. I've had zero issues with the smell factor that so many report. My only *slight* beef is with the clips. They keep the mats together well, but they stick up and sometimes get in my way when I'm trying to line up a large piece of fabric. Other than that, I have no issues. I really love these mats!!.
How to get rid of that skunk smell
There is a product that you can get from a vet that you use on your pet after it has been sprayed by a skunk. While nothing will get rid of a true skunk smell the first time, this stuff is great to use. Then, soak it in tomato juice. Yes, that's right, tomato juice. It works. No more skunk smell! I first tried this on my dog when he was sprayed by a skunk and was able to let him back into the house the next day. True, he was a rather pink dog for a little while (his fur was snow white), after a few baths, he became white again. However, the mat doesn't turn pink, just smells so much better.
Fix for the stink
I read the reviews, yet still purchased it. Come on, how much could it really stink. Well, it really, really stinks. I rubbed it with bounce dryer sheets- top and bottom - for the first week and set one underneath it for keeps. Sprayed with fabreeze. Stink is definitely not as noticeable - actually tolerable. And the size can't be beat. The white ones at the quilt shows ruin the blades on the rotary cutters. I would buy it again.
I found the stench solution!
Thru a Joann's error I found there are 2 versions of this mat. One version does not have letters & does not stink. The other version has 1in A,B & C to mark the pieces & it has an instant-headache-producing stench that stinks up the entire apartment. Tried everything & finally I tried soaking them in the bathtub with spacers in between the mats with enough lukewarm water to cover a cup of baking soda. I used one after soaking for 3 hours & it was much better but the smell returned later. I soaked them all overnight & was able to use them for the full day without the smell returning. The mats themselves a awesome! I love having a large surface I can rotary cut on & then hide away. Also none of the cutting leaves marks & the clips work great.
Can't Imagine Being Without
My husband bought this 3 piece mat set for me a few months back when it was on sale for 50% off. What a great deal. It did smell quite a bit at first, but I hardly notice it now. I think it was probably made with a petroleum base, and I'm guessing that could possibly be part of the problem. But as for the mat itself, it is terrific! And at 50% off, too good of a deal to pass up.
Life saver! (well, almost!)
My family has the really huge set that clips together, so now I'm shopping around for one for myself. I really miss using it! I used to avoid sewing simply because I had to get past cutting out, even though I love sewing SO much! With this mat, cutters and weights, cutting was a breeze!!! I HIGHLY recommend it! I would never go back to using anything else unless forced. :) As for the smell that others have mentioned, I never noticed that with ours, and it was an Olfa.
mat stench
I also store mine in the garage. tried the murphy's soap plus vinegar soak, no help. Stinks up the whole garage. Cannot imagine what the olfa production factory smells like.
