For the dedicated quilter who enjoys many hours of piecing and cutting, these Olfa Rotary Cutters are a must! With their sharp razor rolling blades they will easily cut through 12 layers of cotton. Also fantastic for cutting fleece, felt and wool.
I purchased my first Olfa 45mm cutter 13 years and is still using it. I also have the 60mm one. Cuts beautifully through up to 4 layers for the former. Very happy and satisfied so have no reason to try others.
This was the second rotary cutter I purchased, maybe around 1998? So it's at least 10 years old. Still has smooth action, good hand feel, clean cuts (no wobbling or instability). Safety mechanism reliable and secure just as much now as when I first purchased this rotary cutter.
I started using my mother's Olfa before she gave me a Fiskar's rotary cutter for Christmas. My hands cramped up terribly with this and they are difficult to get a grip on. I can't even imagine using these if I had carpal tunnel or arthritis. They cut well, that is all.
I have been using this cutter for many years for cutting fabric. I am a graphic artist and when I started in a new shop that required a variety of jobs using a cutter, I brought my Olfa Rotary Cutter from home. We have now purchased several and it is an essential tool in our work.
Getting a rotary cutter was the best thing for my quilting. This adds so much to the accuracy and speed of my piecing. I love being able to switch to fancy blades and I love the simple safety mechanism that this Olfa has. Just try not to use a metal ruler, it dulls the blade much faster than using acrylic.
I love this rotary. It is easy to use and holds up to my quilting needs very well. I have had it for 5 years without trouble.
