DRESS:
NOTES:
1. When knitting in the rnd on double-pointed needles, dpns, sts need to be divided fairly evenly onto the needles. If working with a set of 4 dpns, the sts should be divided among 3 needles. If working with a set of 5 dpns, the sts should be divided among 4 needles. The total number of sts will not always be evenly divisible by the number of dpns that are being used – this is not a problem. Simply divide the sts as evenly as possible to still create a symmetrical ‘tube’ of knitting.
2. Carry color not in use along WS of work.

Skirt
With B, cast on 72 sts. Divide sts onto 4 dpns – 18 sts on each needle. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working the first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle, being careful not to twist sts.

Finishing Hat
Weave in ends. With one strand each of A and C held together, follow pompom maker’s package instructions to make a small pompom. Tie pompom to top of hat.

ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES: beg = begin(ning), k = knit, k2tog = knit 2 together, kfb = knit into front and then back, p = purl, rem = remain(ing)(s), rep = repeat, RS = right side, rnd(s) = round(s), sk = skip, sl = slip, st(s) = stitch(es), St st = Stockinette st, WS = wrong side, * = repeat the instructions after the asterisk as specified

An increase is worked as follows:
1. Knit the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from left hand needle.
2. Knit the same st once more, this time inserting needle through the back loop of the st. This creates 2 loops (sts) on right hand needle.
3. Drop the st from the left hand needle – this increases 1 st.
