Warped Grid Cutting Mat
Hey, I bought one of these mats and was so disappointed because when it came was warped too. I tried everything and nothing worked. I went to stay with a friend and her greenhouse was really hot, hot. I decided as a last resort to lay the cutting mat on a flat surface in there for several hours, I would say it was 100 degrees or more in there. Let me tell you within about 2 hours that mat was flat as a pancake. I let it cool down after the sunset and viole I have not had the warping come back but make sure you move it before it gets hot again. It works great and now that I know how to fix this problem; I have no problems purchasing more of them. I even tried ironing it, wrong thing to do.
Going back to Olfa
I bought this mat on sale. It arrived just before we left for vacation, so I figured the "waves" in it would be gone by the time we got home (3 weeks). It still has waves and the smell is terrible. I have never had a smelly Olfa mat and they have always laid flat from the beginning. I am returning this mat for a refund.
Warped
Although I like the fact this mat doesn't have an odor, it did warp on me. I always store it flat, but apparently the Midwest summer heat made it warp anyway. I am very disappointed.
Great mat!
This is the 1st Omnigrid mat I've bought. (I had previously bought the Olfa mats.) The Omnigrid mat has more accurate gridlines and is much easier to read. I bought this one from the online store & it does have a strong smell to it. (The last Olfa mat I bought from the online store had a worse stench though.) The smell does go away in time however. I'll buy the Omnigrid mats now over the Olfa mats.
No SMell
I purchase this mat after returning a really smelly olfa mat. This mat have very little smell and heal just as good at the olfa mat did. Oh and I waited to purchase mine when it was half off.
So easy
These mats are so easy to take to class because they are lightweight. They are also easy on the eyes. The green background makes it easy to see the grid and the fabrics. I especially love the little one because I can turn it when squaring up blocks!
