50.00 reg price for 24w soooo much cheaoer than Joann & I LOVE it! Great const & never had a problem!
I bought this lamp for my scrapbooking room and was worried that it might be to short because my table is 34" high but it is perfect. The amount of light it gives off is amazing the the colors are so pure. It is a very sturdy lamp with a nice heavy base. I would surely recommend this lamp...I also have a desk one but the floor model is so much more powerful.....don't think you will be diappointed with this one...well worth the investment.
The light is wonderful and makes crafting so much easier. However, the base construction is not so wonderful. We have had this light just over a year and the base has separated from the lamp. No replacement available, no repairing possible.
Had this lamp for about five years then it just gave out. It is in good look condition, yet not working condition.
These lamps are by far, the best lamps I've ever used. I have a ten yr. old lamp and have only had to replace the light bulb 3 times. Other Ott lights are more stylish but this style has the strongest and longest bulb available to yield the most light. Just beware: after many years, the prongs to hold the bulb wear out but just tighten them and they will work.
I recently purchased the 24W Floor Model and indeed it is a good lamp. My use is for reading and close up work on small items as my eye sight is not the greatest. I did purchase it at 50% off and yet I feel that is too high. Based oln other lamps that I reviewed I would put this one at a high price of $75 - $80. dollars. I did note that it was not adjustable before the purchase but when I set it up at home it was pretty short, so I set it on a 5" high box and that got it to a perfect height. I read an article that indicated the goose neck had some slow drooping and had to be adjusted frequently to retain a steady position. I did find that to be true so I made a short metal strip and attached it to the neck at an angle.
I've owned this floor lamp for over a year and it's great. I use it by my sewing machine and I never have the need to move it. The lighting is fantastic, and I move the gooseneck often for adjustment over my sewing. No problems with the neck. This was my first Ott and I have 3 others...clamp style for table & a different floor style by chair. Of the 3, this one is my fav & I think it's due to the 24 watt bulb.
the overall quality of this lamp for the price is not very good. Even at half off. the base if very flimsy, unsturdy and poorly made. It is very short for a "floor lamp" so be aware of the overall height when purchasing. If I could have found a 24w in a desk lamp it would have been a better option. The wattage of this light is however very good. It definitely helps when completing delicate tasks.
