Rated 5 out of 5 by from Among the Best Yarn Ever I bought this yarn for a weaving project and it has quickly become my favorite scarf. It's softness exceeds hopes and expectations. The loft is luscious and the colors deep and rich.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Natural Fibers I've been making beanie/hats for myself and other cancer patients out of this wonderful Silk/bamboo yarn. Because of it's natural fibers can be worn year round. Helps keep head cool in summer warm in winter. They do take extra care in cleaning and the fibers tend to flatten.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful drape and fantastic silk sheen! I began using Patons a few years ago; documenting all my crochet projects with photos of the yarn I use, the beginning of my project, the middle, and end result. These are a few of my never before shared designs. I truly enjoy using this yarn. However, there is in fact a challenge with dye lots, knots, and the occasional 'thickness' in some but not every skein of Paton's Silk Bamboo. Side bar: Saddened I'm no longer able to locate their Paton's Angora. That was super fantastic. The Scarf I crochet for my bestie said it kept her warm to -15 degrees! She's in Wisconsin, I'm in California. If Patons brought back their Angora line, well... aside from the lovely 'fluff' surrounding my crochet area, It would be a happy surprise. End sidebar. What I've come to find is that if I ordered 8 or more skeins of a particular color, the online people or warehouse individuals tend to ensure all the dye lots match. However, anything less than 8 (they seem to come in packs of 8) and the dye lot might be off which, depending on the project could be quite telling. That stated it's always better to have the extra left over than to run short and have to reorder more. I've also noticed that the skeins have 'shrunk' from just a couple years ago; and the price has been slightly higher. Be savvy; purchase when it goes on sale and use a Joann coupon on top of that to add to your sale price per skein and you'll be happy you did. In the end, you'll enjoy the drape and the sheen on the fabric you've created once you've gotten some of the project completed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very soft I purchased two skeins in black to knit a hat for my dad who is preparing for chemo. We both are very sensitive to wool and acrylic. This is wonderfully soft and stretchy. I used aluminum dpns rather than bamboo, in an effort to avoid tearing up the yarn on the wood. However, it still knitted up quite fuzzy, which was fine for my purposes, but don't expect a smooth fabric with sheen. It also had a tendancy to slip off my aluminum needles, so I may opt for bamboo next time for a bit more grip. Overall I'm please with this yarn, but the price point is a little high compared to wool and cottons. I'd never knit a garment with this because of the cost and stretch, but it's great for accessories.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful yarn I bought this at my local Joann's, where unfortunately they don't keep a large selection, glad to see more colors available online. When looking for natural fiber yarn to make chemo caps for 2 family members that started this month, came across Patons Silk Bamboo. I bought 2 colors (stone and sapphire) and made 2 hats, very little leftovers. It is so soft and since it is silk and bamboo will be breathable and not too warm to be worn inside. the bad? It recommends handwash cold and dry flat, also it is so soft if a garment (sweater/cardigan) were to be made from this I don't know how well it would retain its shape. I WILL be buying more, and most likely make a couple matching shawls for my cousin fighting breast cancer to match the hats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patons Silk Bamboo Yarn I've purchased several of these and plan to continue working projects in the future with this yarn. It can take a bit of getting used to by way of adjusting your tension because of how soft this yarn is. Even when combining bamboo with other fibers tension needs adjusted. It is just that much different to work with. Once I got used to it I had no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Yarn! I adore this yarn. Super soft, lux and rich looking! Made fingerless gloves with it on a loom and crochet. Best looking and feeling yarn I have ever worked with. I am seriously allergic to all wool and animal yarns so bamboo, cotton and silk are the natural yarns that I can work with. I have tried all sorts of yarns with variations of materials including wool (all animal yarns of all kinds and all % mess me up into hive territory) the best for me is this yarn. I use others to make less expensive versions of my crafts but for my personal use I always use this!!!
