Used For: Used with thin or lightweight fabrics to stiffen, reinforce and provide shape retention on garments, costumes, accessories and crafts.

Special Benefits: Two main types of interfacing include fusible (which is applied with heat) and sew-in. They can be knit or woven, and come in a variety of weights to reinforce different kinds of base fabric.

The Pellon 809 Decor-Bond Fusible Stabilizer is a firm, non-woven fabric that provides extra crispness and support. It is ideal for use in placemats, director chairs, lamp shades and drapery headers. You can use two layers of this fusible fabric for areas that require extra rigidity. It is made from polyester.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like the old grey mare, she ain't what she used to be! This last bolt of 809 is not the same quality product that I've been using for years. I've tried different heat settings on my iron trying to get it to fuse but it simply doesn't fuse evenly if at all. It is also thinner and the non-stick side sort of pills easily. I'm looking for an alternative.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not fuse and much thinner than in the past I have been purchasing and using Pellon 809 fusible interfacing for the bags I make for many years and this is NOT the same quality. It is so thin that I have to use two layers to get the same amount of stabilizing that I got in the past from one layer. Plus, it does NOT fuse to anything, no matter how hot the iron is, no matter how long you iron it. In fact the so-called non-sticky side sticks to my iron! I had to either sew it in or use fabric glue to get it to adhere to my fabrics. Next time I will just buy the non-fusible kind. No point in wasting money on fusible. Pellon needs to get its act together. There is obviously no quality control in this company. I am very disappointed in this product. Will shop other brands in the future.
