SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
• 1/3 yd canvas fabric
• 1/3 yd faux leather or vinyl
• Matching thread
• 1 yd lining fabric 
• 11
⁄8 yd heavy-duty interfacing 
• Basic sewing supplies
• Sewing machine
• Teflon® sewing machine foot
• Iron & pressing surface
• Charm embellishment
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Rotary cutter, cutting 
mat & ruler
• Studding kit and 6 studs

DIRECTIONS: Use 1/2" seam allowance throughout
1. Cut the following pieces and press.
Fabric Piece Quantity Size
Canvas Bag front & back 2 12"x18"
Faux leather/vinyl Bag bottom 1 10½"x18"
 Trim 2 1"x18"
 Handles 2 3"x20"
Lining Body lining 1 33"x18"
 Internal binding 2 2"x16"
 Base cover 1 9"x12"
Heavy-duty Body 1 33"x18" 
interfacing Base 1 11"x4"
2. Sew vinyl (bag bottom) to canvas (bag front) on longest side. Turn 
to right side and topstitch 1/4" from seam line. Repeat for second.
3. Fold long edges of handle pieces toward center. Topstitch along 
both raw edges.
4. Sew on any optional labels and pockets to lining pieces prior to 
construction.
5. For bag front, with right sides together, stitch canvas, body 
interfacing and body lining at top and bottom seams. Repeat for 
bag back. Turn right side out and press seams.
6. At top edge, topstitch trim while positioning and attaching each 
handle at the same time. The handle should be centered with a 4" 
gap. Topstitch bottom of trim. Repeat for the other side. 
7. With canvas right sides together, sew side seams. Trim seam and 
sew on binding to finish the side seams. 
8. Sew interior corner seams together. Clip top corners to lessen bulk. 
Turn the bag right side out.
