The Petite Press has a tapered soleplate is 2-3/8''x1-3/4''. Small enough for sewing, quilting and crafting applications, yet large enough for clothing repairs and iron-on appliques. Great for travel! Head can not be removed. Adjustable soleplate head with four positions, adjust for use when standing or sitting. The ergonomic shape and light weight design allows for prolonged use and the larger handle has soft comfort grips, perfect for arthritic hands. The view of the soleplate is easy to observe and the off/on button and temperature settings are easily seen. Four temperature settings are easily adjusted for fabric content or craft applications. Move temperature higher or lower with the touch of a button on the digital control pad.
This works great for applique and ironing binding out of bias tip. It's easy to carry to quilting class. I bought it on sale so the price was great too!
Purchase in store after seeing on line. I found it to be wonderful for my quilting in the hoop projects. It gets plenty hot and is light weight enough to carry to all my sewing classes. I found this a very good value and would recommend it to all my friends. Best when on sale.
Packs a surprising punch to iron - used it to iron a shirt to hooped stabilizer and could get inside the hoop area with this. Looks a bit child-like, plastic, the stand is so so, but the adjustable head is great for getting into small areas. I would use different buttons, because when I put my finger on top for pressure I keep hitting the buttons. Small inconvenience, like it better than the little clover in many ways. A bit pricey.
