SUPPLIES & TOOLS: Makes one 16" pillow

  • 16" pillow form
  • 1/2 yd 72" wide felt
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine
  • Fabri-Tac® glue
DIRECTIONS:

BASIC PILLOW WITH ENVELOPE STYLE BACK:

1. From felt cut one 17"x17" for front and two 17"x14" for back.
2. Apply embellishments to front of pillow.
3. With right sides together, overlap back pieces and sew to front using 1/2" seam.
4. Clip corners and turn right side out. Insert pillow form.

FOR SCALLOP CORNERS:

1. Use chalk marker to mark curved lines on front. Cut out strips of scallop design.
2. Machine or hand gather straight edge just enough to follow curve of pattern.
3. Lay scallops along curved lines and glue or sew scallops in place. Outside row has 6 scallops,
next row has 5 scallops, then 4 and 3.
4. Repeat with each corner.
5. Construct pillow.
6. For center flower, trim 1/2" off 5 scallop strip, hand stitch and gather flat end pulling tightly into a flower
shape. Glue small felt circle in center. Glue flower in center of pillow.

FOR SCALLOP EDGE FELT FLOWERS:

1. Cut out strips of scallop design.
2. Hand gather bottom edge and pull gathering tightly.
3. Secure ends together and pull into flower shape.
4. Cut out a small felt circle and glue in center.
5. Glue onto finished pillow.

FOR FELT FLOWERS:

Scallops

1. Cut one strip 1 1/2"x18" and use pattern to cut ends.
2. Hand gather bottom edge and pull gathering tightly.
3. Secure ends together and wrap into flower shape.
4. Glue onto finished pillow.
