Pink and Blue 5-Layer Cake

BATTER COLORS TINTED

  • Use Color Right base colors to tint batter in the following shades:
    • Pink: 1/2/3 cups batter + 1 P + 1 BR
    • Blue: 2 2/3 cups batter + 4 R + 13 B + 2 P + 1 BK + 2 Y

DIRECTIONS

1.  Make layered cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Tint batter pink and blue. Divide batter into pans in set. Bake and cool cake according to pan directions.

2.   Assemble layers. Prepare white buttercream icing following recipe directions. Starting with one blue layer on bottom, fill and stack cake layers in alternating colors on cake plate.

3.   Ice cake. Use spatula and white icing to ice cake sides smooth. Use tip 18, a cut disposable decorating bag and white icing to pipe rosettes on cake top and on bottom border.

 

Project Tip: Ice the outside of the cake to match the inside! Use the Color Right Performance Color System to tint icing pink and blue, then ice each layer to match.
