Tips to working with a variety of fabrics:
Use your fabric shears with caution when dealing with specialty fabrics. Use craft scissors to cut through embellishments such as sequins, heavy embroidery or metallic blends.
For flat, neat, curved seams, cut notches in the seam allowance to the seam line for outside curves; clip the seam allowance for inside curves.
When it comes to closures for lightweight fabrics and sheers , choose small buttons and snaps, hook and eyes or an invisible zipper. Anything heavy, like exposed zippers or large buttons will weigh down the garment.
