I am an owner of 3 different Cricut machines and just bought this Cake Mini on Clearance (It was the last one!) and am extremely pleased with my purchase. I stayed up all night watching tuturials on Youtube before buying it, so I would be comfortable using it beforehand and it helped me so much. To the reviewer who stated that they didn't see where it says it comes with a Cake Basics Cartridge, I can assure you that each and everyone does, even at an amazingly low price! It will not work without one, as nothing comes pre-loaded on it.Please do not review something unless you own it,just to make a comment! I am very happy with this cutter & am spending today practicing with Fondant and Gumpaste for my children's Halloween parties! ;-)
A great buy-can be used for paper cutting as well!
with the switch to a deep cut blade housing and blade this can be used to cut paper .I ordered one for my granddaughter and have to comment on the very fast delivery time and complete satisfaction with my service from JoAnn's. this was my 1st order from them and won't be my last. this is a GREAT buy and is a great reasourse for paper crafters, cake decoraters and teachers for a classroom, daycare, sunday school. etc. The Cake Basics cartridge that is included is a great one for paper crafting it has loads of shapes, images, borders, and a wonderful alphabet. What are you waiting for order it at this super fantastic price. I am so glad I did!!!

I read the message from the lady that complained about the missing cartridge. I don't see where it says cartridge included. At 79.99 I wouldn't expect it to have one included
missing cartridge
I bought this today after wanting one for a long time. Unfortunately after driving 2 hours to get home from Grand Forks, when I opened the box, I noticed that the cartridge was missing. I am so disappointed because I really wanted this to decorate my daughter's bday cake next Saturday but without the Cake Basics cartridge I won't be able to use the design I wanted. I do own other Cricut cartridges and was able to cut out some very intricate designs at my first try. Once I get the cartridge that was supposed to be included I will be absolutely pleased with this purchase.
awesome little machine
I purchased this over the regular cricut cake because the price-point was too goo to pass up. I love it and even though it may lack some of the features of the bigger version, it does the job just the same. I love the smaller footprint it has as I do have a small kitchen. I am just totally pleased with this. It took me a lot of practice and maybe a few curse words at first, but I was determined to make it work. The key is patience and perseverance. I was finally able to get the results I wanted and haven't had an issue since. Next investment is going to be a pasta roller to save me the rolling time!
Complainers need not buy
I just got my machine. It is terrific! Yeah, it took some practice, and some patience, but I expected to have to learn a new skill. I was so excited I stayed up all night to practice with it. So, if you are a complainer, don't bother to buy this product. If you love cake or cookie decorating you will love this machine!
