Great Buffet Mat
For get-togethers, we put a large piece of this on our buffet and another piece in the middle of the dining table then cover with tablecloths. It works great for us so we don't have to monkey with trivets and potholders!
Is this the cheap imitation?
If this is the same product sold in the stores, don't bother with it. It looks cheap and is very thin compared to real ThermaFlec. Also, why do they call it ironing board fabric and then say you can't iron it?
great for potholders
I used this and a layer of insul-brite (sp?) on one side of of holders and it have not had an instance where anything has been too hot :).. Does not seem to scorch.
Don't Wash it!
I spilled s drink on this cover and checked the website to see if this could be washed. The write up said yes. cold and tumble dry low. BIG MISTAKE! All the silver coating came off in the wash and the rest fell apart in the dryer. Other than that, it was fine.
marks of diamonds show
did not liek quilting, some shows on soft fabric. probably ok for regular fabrics. i was uing a soft knit, showed diamonds on fabric with ironing
