Additional Information



  • 1/8 yd of several different fabrics (enough for 28 6-1/2" squares)
  • 1 yd all over patterned fabric for center
  • 3/4 yd fabric for inner border and binding
  • 1-1/2 yd fabric for back
  • 1-1/2 yd batting
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies


Note: 1/4" seam allowance used.

1. Cut: 28 6-1/2" squares
27-1/2"x33-1/2" for center
4 2-1/2" strips WOF for inner border
5 3" strips WOF for binding
2. With RST, sew inner borders to top and bottom of center then to both sides.
3. Randomly place squares around center square as desired
4. With RST, sew top and bottom row of 7 squares together. Press
5. With RST, sew the side squares together. Press
6. Sew side squares to quilt center. Press
7. Sew top and bottom rows to quilt. Press
8. Cut batting 42-1/2"x48-1/2".
9. Cut backing 42-1/2"x48-1/2".
10. Layer backing, batting and quilt top together, baste or pin together.
11. Quilt as desired.
12. Sew binding strips in together; using desired method, bind quilt.
