Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Yarn! I love the way the colors blend in this yarn. I've bought all 14 colors and they're all beautiful. Its light-weight enough to use in the summer in a chilly restaurant or movie theater but warm enough for winter, and incredibly soft. I would have given it 5 stars except that it does have one big problem. There are places in it that are so poorly twisted that the yarn pulls apart like so much air, and has to be discarded AND other places where the yarn is so thin it more like using a thread than a yarn. Unless you are ok with that, you might want to stay away from this yarn. Take a look at these photos though, before you decide.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't Get Suckered In! The colors are gorgeous, I admit, but working with this yarn is a nightmare. As other said, its NOT a 4 weight. No way. It splices and there were several knots in all of the 16 skeins I used (3 large projects, 2 colorways) that tied colors together at inappropriate times, and the thickness varies. First its thick, then dangerously thin. Worst of all, you can't pull out any stitches if you make a mistake because the yarn gets "hairy" with little fibers, and the fibers knot themselves. You just cut, cut, cut. I am an experienced crochet'er and I couldn't find a better way to go about using this yarn. Don't get fooled by the colors, just find another yarn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two thumbs up! This yarn knits beautifully IF you know what you're doing. This is not for beginning knitters or crocheters. It's roving, so it can split easily if you're not watching what you're doing. If your hands are dry and rough, you'll have some snagging. But once you get beyond all that potentially negative stuff, you will love this yarn. The roving texture gives it a smooth sheen that plays elegantly with light. The colors change gradually and softly from one to the next making gorgeously irregular stripes of color. The knitted fabric is soft and feels delightfully squishy in my hand. Work this yarn in simple stitches like garter and stockinette (save the fancy texture stitches for some other project) and let the colors do the talking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for beginners... This yarn is gorgeous, but isn't always the easiest to work with. A lot of the the difficulties spawn from human error and not understanding the yarn itself. Some things to keep in mind: 1. Not meant to be center pull. Too much tension/friction on thread can and will snap it. 2. Roving yarn and not a consistent thickness - if it is conformity in your project you're looking for, this may not be the choice. 3. The fibers of this yarn cling tightly. Upside, your work is secure. Downside, frogging to fix errors is nightmarish. 4. This yarn can require patience and a forgiving attitude, both completely worth it for the gorgeous outcome and stunning, blended change in colors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst yarn ever! This is the worst yarn ever. I'm sorry I wasted my money (even though it was on sale) on Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable. The project (a sweater) I was making called for this yarn, I used it, now I'm afraid to wear it. Or wash it, which I always do before I wear any new clothes. The yarn is inconsistent in weight which throws the gauge off, it pulls apart easily, and the beginning of the skein is difficult to find without pulling the middle of the skein out. The only redeeming thing about it is the color. I bought Dragonfly and Tidal both complimentary and vibrant with long color runs. I do not recommend this yarn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful Texture! After reading some rather negative reviews on this product (which I personally LOVE), I thought I'd add a note about the type of yarn chosen vs. the type of project you want to do: DON'T choose a roving-type yarn if the look you desire in the finished project is a smooth, even texture (like mittens)! You are asking the yarn to behave in a manner that it is NOT designed for! Pick a regular worsted----in a suitable weight---or other "twisted" ply fibers. This is a beautiful, shaded "painterly" yarn that works up into gorgeous TEXTURED stitch patterns (for garments, scarves, Mobius, infinity scarves, etc.) I happen to crochet, but I'm sure that knitters would agree! You could beat it with a stick, and it just is not going to lose that thick/thin characteristic that is inherent (and valued) in the roving fiber. Just as you wouldn't use a screwdriver to hammer a nail, choose the correct tool for the job! My big wish is for additional color paths!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why recommend a J hook for crochet? The colorways are attractive initially so I bought on sale several. Recommend you ball this before working for it has a halo that snags. I am in the process of salvaging my first skein. The J hook is absolutely ridiculous for me and gave whimpy stitch definition. Perhaps two strands together, use a J hook? I am using an H hook for I could not find my I hook. Wanted to gradually go down sizes in hooks to see what's what. H hook gives well formed stitch without crowding the fuzzy halo effect. Have not tried knitting with yet. The feel is a "light" worsted weight thus far. Perhaps bamboo hook would provide control for it jumps here and there off my metal Clover hook. In time I will learn what tool tames this beauty. Not a good yarn for a beginner, perhaps and I have been stitching over 40 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this Yarn! The colors are fantastic! I like the variance in thickness of the yarn - it adds interest to your work & looks expensive and almost hand-spun. However, it is Not the weight of a normal 4-ply yarn. Using the recommended J crochet hook does produce a very nice stitch, but if you're looking for a 4-ply yarn, this isn't it. Very soft in texture, although a little fuzzy. No problems with splitting or breaking at all. I will use this yarn as long as it's available. Received many compliments on it.
