think about it

Reviewer: Anonymous, 09/27/2009

I too have been using red heart for many years now. I started to crochet at 5 and am now 63 years old.I have ripped out and done over soo many times you wont believe, yet I go and buy red heart again and again.what I can say about red heart yarn is that the yarn itself cannot do better than the one using it. Dont blame your mistakes on the yarn. Be sure to read your instructions carefully and understand them. make sure the hook and guage is the correct ones to use as per the pattern...pay attention to how tight or loose you crochet, its important girls! now,try your project again...

Worst yarn ever

Reviewer: Colleen, 09/23/2009

Obviously the quality of this yarn has gone downhill since the 3 to 5 star reviews were written. I ordered this yarn online to use to make baby sweaters in colors other than the traditional pink, blue, and green. When I got it and felt it, I wouldn't want it touching my own skin much less a baby's. It feels like nylon rope. Not only is it not soft, it doesn't work up well at all. The swatch I did was lumpy and ugly. I don't know what I'm going to use it for now. I can't think of a thing it would be good for! I will never again buy yarn online that I haven't worked with before.

Red Heart Sport Yarn

Reviewer: Fran, 11/10/2008

I'm very disappointed that the quality of Red Heart Sport yarn has deteriorated over the past few years. I am currently using a RH Sport yarn for a Christmas project that becomes intermittently so thick that I have to cut it off because my hook won't grab it. The yarn is nubby and rough, not at all like it used to be, which was smooth, soft and pliable and so nice to work with. I've been crocheting for over 40 years and have always used Red Heart Yarn, so I kow what I'm talking about. Thanks for letting me express my opinion.

Red Heart Sport

This yarn is a little softer than Red Heart Super Saver. The price is nice, and the colors are great. I usually mix one strand of this, with one strand of Red Heart Super Saver,on size 11 bamboo needles.

Red Heart Sport Yarn

Reviewer: Joyce, 04/12/2008

I've been making Christmas stockings on my knitting machine for over 20 yrs. Works up nice on Ten. 10. Ten. 8 EON. Very sorry Wal Mart doesn't carry sport yarn anymore. We don't have a Jo Anns where I live. It's hard to find other places now too in the colors I use. I use Jockey Red, Paddy green and white. Don't like the cherry red or hunter green at all.

Great Value - Average Quality

Reviewer: Linda, 04/10/2008

This yarn is for those of us who want to save some $. It is not the best quality, and the feel of it in your hands as you knit or crochet is only ok. It cannot be compared to expensive yarns from yuppy shops (which I love but can't afford). It's great for charity projects and clothing for kids. Use nicer yarn for adults and projects that take you many hours to complete :o)

Horrible Knotty yarn

Reviewer: Anonymous, 03/22/2008

This yarn IS THE WORST! I have just started knitting and when I'm in the middle of winding the skien into a ball It becomes Two Strands so while I'm winding it every second I have to take the other strand and un wind it from the ball.
