- Bernat® Handicrafter® Cotton - Sail White, Classic Navy, or Port - 1 ball, 55 yds
- Size U.S. 8 knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
- Stitch marker
- Measuring tape
- Needle & thread
Approx 10" square, excluding hanging loop.
18 sts and 24 rows = 4" in stocking st.
Cast on 64 sts.
1st row: (RS). K32. Pm. K32.
2nd row: Knit.
3rd row: Knit to 2 sts before marker. K2tog. Slip marker. ssk. Knit to end of row.
4th and 5th rows: As 2nd and 3rd rows.
6th row: (WS). Purl.
7th row: As 3rd row.
Rep 6th and 7th rows 6 times more.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows 4 times more.
Rep 6th and 7th rows 7 times more.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows until 6 sts rem.
Cont as follows for Hanging Loop:
Hanging Loop: Knit every row (garter st) across rem 6 sts until loop measures 4½".
Next row: K2. Cast off 2 sts. K2.
Next row: K2. Cast on 2 sts. K2. Buttonhole made.
Knit 2 more rows.
Sew button on RS to correspond to buttonhole.
