Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money, EVEN if you have a coupon! I wish I had read reviews about this product before I saw it on sale AND used a 25% off everything coupon. All the wooden dowels that came with it were warped. They'd fall off the too slim 'slot' they dropped into. It was wobbly and it appeared the brad nails used to keep it together weren't long enough. I decided to modify my Ribbon-Ladder by drilling holes using a 5/8" drill bit into the area where the dowel is supposed to rest after it is pushed down the slot. I drilled slowly so as to make a straight hole for the dowel. After the dowel holes were drilled, I sanded the area where the holes were made. The new dowels are 1/4" x 15" long. I reinforced the top and bottom pieces with superglue to stop the wobbling, and repainted the whole thing (and new dowels) with spray paint. Then I found rubber tips that go on wire shelves to place on either end of the wooden dowel. The larger tip is the one I remove when I need to access the dowels to remove or add spools. I just add a new Glue Dot (small size) to the end of the dowel and place the tip on the end of the dowel.. An alternate way of securing the dowels so they stay in the holes is to tie a couple small rubber bands on the ends of the dowels. The dowels don't slide back and forth this way. This was the original way I held the dowels onto the Ribbon-Ladder until I found the rubber tips.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great idea, poor construction I bought two of these while on sale and am glad I didn't pay full price. Not a single one of the dowels is long enough to stay in the slot (and some are bowed), so with even the slightest bump the whole dowel-full of ribbon - and those next to it - comes falling out! Buy with caution, and be prepared to replace the dowels with ones long enough to stay put while you get ribbon off the spool. And, now 6 months after purchase, the light layer of glue holding the top support to the vertical supports has come undone, making the short-dowel problem even worse...If you have any of the tools available to make your own version I HIGHLY suggest you do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment Bought two of these online, hoping to organize my ribbons and trims where I could see everything at a glance instead of rooting through drawers I had them in. First, some of my reels would not fit because of the rim size; but once I got the first dowel filled and tried to replace it on the ladder, it wouldn't stay in the side grooves because it was too short. I cut myself a longer dowel from a dowel I had stashed. And even after making longer dowels, the slightest little tug on one reel to check color, measure a cut, etc., would cause it to come tumbling into the other rows and onto the table. Right now, they are both laying on top of a armoire nd I have the spools arranged between the dowels.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love one, hate one I ordered 2 of these when they were on sale for Black Friday. One is perfect the other was missing rungs and is falling apart. I called Joann's and they put it in my notes that when they were back in stock I could get it for the same price. They gave me a label to send the damaged one back. I wanted to wait until I got the new one so I could use the box. Well, they have never come back into stock and it is too late to send the damaged one back so I am gluing it together and using it. They really are cheaply made but the problem was that it wasn't packed carefully.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad quality and dirty I bought this on Black Friday and was pleased when it arrived so quickly. Sealed in the package, it was dirty and had to be washed off, not wiped off, when I removed the plastic. It actually appeared to have dirty hand and finger prints on it. The paint is not completely around the bowed dowl rods and it was coming apart. I'm not bothering with a return, washed it, repaired it myself and will not be purchasing items again unless I have had a positive experience such as with felt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I don't usually write reviews, but ... ...this is the worst purchase I've ever made. Bought two and would return them in a heartbeat, except I've messed with them so much trying to make them work, that I don't think I can. Dowels fall out, flimsy construction, and my fault for not anticipating this, but you have to take the thing off the wall to remove a spool (and then the whole thing falls apart!).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea but... I ordered 3 of these and 2 were damaged- there was no padding included so I'm not surprised. They also had scuffs/grey marks all over them. The shrink wrap plastic over them was also ripped open in spots. Great idea and value (when on sale) but go to the store and purchase yourself. You CAN'T return online orders at stores, & if they're out of stock- you're out of LUCK!
