SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 Plain white photo storage box
  • 2 Sheets of cardstock from Heidi Swapp COLOR fresh paper pack
  • Quick grip glue
  • Zip dry glue
  • X-acto knife
  • Cutting surface
  • Metal straight edge
  • 5/16" Wooden dowel rods
  • 1 Grommet kit, 7/16"
  • Pliers
  • Pencil
  • Assorted spools of ribbon

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Remove lid from the photo storage box. Remove the label plate using pliers.
  2. Take sheets of paper from the paper pack and measure them to fit the top and side of the box.
  3. Cut the paper with your X-acto knife and glue paper onto the box using the Zip Dry glue.
  4. Vertically fill the box with three rows of ribbon.
  5. For the holes for the wooden dowel rods, find the center measurement of each row of ribbon. On the sides of the box, make a measurement up from the bottom starting at 1/4". This will be the bottom of the first row. From that measurement make a mark for the center of the first row of ribbon. Measure up to the next row and also find the center of that row. Do that for each row until you reach the top.
  6. Use the circle template to make neat circles on each side of the box. Use your X-acto knife to cut out the holes.
  7. Attach the grommets with Quick Grip glue.
  8. Cut the dowel rods to be 1/2 ft wider than the box.
  9. Insert the unfinished wooden dowel rods into the side of the box. Then slide the rows of ribbon onto the dowel rod. Slide the end of the dowel rod into the other side of the box.

CRAFT HACK TIPS & TRICKS:

  • Lightly apply glue when you insert the grommets.
