Very, very thin

I bought this, and I wish it were thicker, heavier. I made a tote bag with it, and I wound up having to use 2 layers to get the weight I wanted. This is about as thin as the thinnest disposable rain poncho. If it weren't rip stop it'd tear in a minute.

Better in the Store

I purchase a lot of ripstop nylon for my business. I've found that Joann carries the highest quality ripstop, but ONLY IN STORE. The nylon from their online store is wimpy. It frays badly and is VERY thin. What I find in the store is much heavier and does not fray when you cut it. MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better in the store than online!!!

Bought this in the store about 2 or 3 years ago when I made some pullover bibs for our grandchildren. The bibs had rib knit cuff on the long sleeves and neck. I added a self fabric cuff to make a catch-all pocket. My Daughter in law LOVED them for the grandchildren. I am planning on making some for the little ones in her daycare. Easy wash and wear care and water repellent, too!

Backpacking awning

I made an awning for my hammock to use backpacking. This helps reduce weight. I'm no expert at sewing, but got the job done. The green color worked for me.

An ok Ripstop

This ripstop is an ok fabric overall. It is un-coated, so uses such as r/c balloons are out of the question. There are more economical ways to buy larger quantities, but in a pinch, or for a small project, this fabric should serve the average consumer well. I have tested the tensile strength to exceed 60psi.
