I used the color selector to find the closest match to my skirts and chemise. My costume has become faded over the years and needed a little help. The first try didn't make a difference in the color until I realized the measurements where for dye in ONE CUP of WATER. I was dyeing using my washing machine which uses more than one cup of water. I kept the dye ratios and used a much of each bottle as possible and voila! perfect color update.
Hello! fckfbde interesting fckfbde site! I'm really like it! Very, very fckfbde good!
I was dyeing some white cotton fabric (easy, right?). Well, instead of "Scarlet" I got "Salmon." Not only that, but the color is uneven. I knew I shouldn't have strayed from iDye.
I used this to dye yarn, and it worked great. I used EveningBlue, and the result was just a little lighter than the color on the bottle. Nice, even color. I achieved a beautiful, dark blue color from the same bottle by dyeing a skein of wool yarn which actually had already been dyed (a light teal color). I will definitely use this for future yarn dyeing! Very easy to use and greater chance of matching the color on the bottle.
I am so sorry it didn't work out for you. Rit is a good product. However, there are many different factors that could lead to an unexpected or disappointing result. Was this the first time you have used Rit? If so, I realize how important first impressions are. I regret that yours was less than exceptional.
I used this today to dye a blanket to match my son's room. It was not exactly the colour on the container however I prefer the colour it wound up being. It was easy to use and dyed very evenly. I will definitely use this product again.
The only reason I bought this dye was for the great reviews and because it had the 2 colors I needed which were navy blue and teal. These colors are hard to find on their own without having to mix colors so I was very excited to find them by RIT. I took them home and dyed some fabric teal and it turned out a light powder blue' not at all what I was expecting but I thought maybe I didnt use enough dye so I moved on to dye something navy blue. It turned PURPLE! It was no where close to being navy blue and now my garments are RUINED!! I cant redye them because the color is too dark and nothing else will cover it. What a waste of money and time! I really do not recommend this product. Sorry!
Great color and easy to use, even in the sink. But they're not kidding when it says "not recommended for polyester"!
