Reviews
Rowenta DA1560 Compact Iron is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this iron!!! I have had this particular iron for about two year, and I can honestly say that this compact iron is the perfect accessory piece for my sewing room. I love love love it. I sew a lot of garments and I keep this iron and my pressing board handy to sew between stitching. It is a must have for anyone who likes to have professionally finished garments. It is so much easier to use than dragging out my larger iron and ironing board. I leave it out the entire time I am sewing without having to worry about it getting in the way. The handle has never felt like it is going to break, but I also don't put my full weight behind it when I am pressing my fabric pieces. I just let the iron do the work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE this iron!!!! I have a built-in ironing board unit in my laundry room. There isn't a lot of room to store a full size iron. I usually had to store the iron in another location. I bought this smaller version so it would store nicely in the unit with the board. It is perfect! An added bonus is that it is so lightweight. After having spine surgery, I find it difficult to lift heavy objects or use heavy items for extended periods of time. You do have to refill it frequently due to its small size. But that's a small price to pay for all the other advantages. I highly recommend this iron if you are looking for something small and lightweight. It also has a nice rounded/pointed nose for ironing tight spots.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from Worthless Rowenta Travel Iron SAVE YOUR MONEY - DO NOT BUY - If you are looking for a steam iron this is NOT the one. I have had 6 of them now and only the first one steamed, however it did not last more than a few months. It was replaced by Rowenta, 3 times and they have NOT worked out of the box. I retuned 2 to JoAnns and had the same issue. Other friends have had this same iron and the handle has broken for them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rowenta Compact Iron I only had mine for 3 months and the handle collapsed. My husband took it apart and seen that it barely sits on the part that keeps the handle up. He tried to fix it but it with epoxy but it broke again so he put a piece of flexible foam under the handle (kind you would put on your pipes to keep them from freezing) It allows for movement and I take out the foam to travel with it. Shame you have to try to do things like this to get to use it like this. It sure was a design flaw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rowenta Travel Iron I've had this iron for about 1-1/2 years and loved it until recently. The handle just snapped and won't stay open so makes using it very difficult. You have to be really careful and not press down very hard on the handle. I do a lot of quilting and sometimes you have to press firmly to get seams to lay right. It's great to take with on retreats and traveling but I wish it was made more substantially. I called about getting it fixed and they can't eve get parts... 8 - 10 week wait. Cheaper to just replace it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from unhappy rowenta owner my iron was collapsing rather often then it made a loud snapping noise and it hasn't worked since I also never liked that loud crunching sound when I turned it on and offI wish there was another brand of iron that is this small that gets as hot as this one

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was great while it worked. I bought this iron for quilting. It worked great for about 10 hours of use. Then it just died. Won't even heat up. Very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not recommended for regular use I've bought this iron three times and had to return within months. The first one burnt out and quit working all together. Same thing with the second one, but the third one quit steaming. I actually LOVE the size, style and weight of the iron and the fact it heats up fast. If only the only would hold up. Unfortunately it doesn't so I won't buy another one nor would I recommend unless you will only be using accasionally. Also it has no on/off switch.
