  • Wilton foodcrafting supplies
    • 8"x2" Round Pan
    • 10"x16" Cooling Grid
    • 13" Angled Spatula
    • Roll-N-Cut Mat
    • 20" Fondant Roller
    • 20" Fondant Roller Guide Rings (orange and blue used)
    • White Ready-To-Use Decorator Icing—4.5 lb. Tub
    • Decorator Preferred Fondant: Black (24 oz.), Pink (19 oz.)
    • Fondant Smoother
    • Fondant Trimmer
    • Pattern Embosser
    • Geometric Pattern Roller
    • Brush Set
    • Piping Gel
    • White Pearl Dust Edible Accents
    • Lemon Extract
    • Circle Metal Cutter (3" dia.)
  • Favorite cake recipe or mix (8 cups batter needed)
  • Plastic ruler
  • Toothpick

 

DIRECTIONS:

Bake cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake cake and allow to cool. Stack and fill for a 2-layer, 4" high cake.

Cover cake with fondant. Use spatula and icing to lightly ice cake smooth. Use fondant roller with orange guide rings to roll out black fondant 1/8" thick. Cover cake with fondant.

Decorate cake sides. Use fondant roller with orange guide rings to roll out 14 oz. pink fondant 1/8" thick. Use fondant trimmer to cut fondant into strip, 5" wide x 25" long. Use pattern embosser with geometric roller to emboss strip. Use fondant trimmer to cut strip to 4" high. Use brush and piping gel to attach fondant strip to cake side. Use fondant trimmer to trim off excess fondant at the bottom of the cake.  Use toothpick and ruler to mark cake sides into sections, each 1¼" wide. Use brush and white Pearl Dust/lemon extract mixture to paint alternating sections. 

Make fondant ruffle flower. Use fondant roller with blue guide rings to roll out 5 oz. bright pink fondant 1/16" thick. Use circle cutter to cut 15 circles. Use damp brush to attach one circle to center of cake. One by one, gather remaining circles at their centers and attach to each other to form one ruffle flower shape. Use brush and equal parts white Pearl Dust/lemon extract mixture to brush flower edges. Use damp brush to attach flower to fondant circle on cake top.
