The look and feel of silk, but with easy wash and dry care. This fabric is great for blouses and dresses.

I was amused when a Jo-ann employee said to me "This is an angry fabric." She's right. It doesn't really want to be made into clothing; it frays like crazy along any cut edge and the fraying threads are so strong and so light that I have several times had them wrap around my feet and trip me. ANYthing I make with this has got to have completely enclosed seams: french, flat-felled, or lined. That said, I find it useful for dance costumes that are very full and open, allowing sufficient air movement to compensate for the fabric's tendency to trap heat and sweat.
I have used this in a number of dance costumes over the years and I must say that it does look pretty decent -- but the edges fray like crazy and it's not very durable. It might hold up better if you serge the edges; I haven't tried it though. On the upside there are a lot of colors to choose from and from a distance it looks pretty sharp.
I've used this fabric for years in costumes and home decor. I even made divider walls out of it. I'm renting and want a darker color for walls, so here I am again. It doesn't fade either
This material is fabulous!! I'm using this material for worship flags and it's excellent. It waves wonderfully and the fabric paint looks beautiful on it. I can't wait to make a flag in every color. Can't beat the price either!!
My medieval hobby group uses Silkessence in place of real silk for painted flags and banners. Holds up well in all kinds of weather. It comes in all the heraldic colors but true green...used to though...bring it back!
We love this fabric. We use it for our litergical dance group. We need much more of the white. There's never enough. We also have a very limited budget so purchasing it over the internet with the 40% off is a great value. We could sure use some more white. We want to buy about 30 more yards and it would also be nice if we could have orders put on backorder so we're sure to get it when it becomes available again. Checking daily. Love this fabric.
i use it to create lovely , flowing dance garments. i like it as it travels well & also wears very well. i am writing to ask to please return the lovely lavendar pastel color you carried a couple years ago in the spring! i love the pastels and also love the other colors. just want the lavendar back. any other pastels would be lovely too!
Our dance troupe uses a lot of this fabric for costuming. It can be thrown into your dance bag and when you arrive at the performance it is unwrinkled and ready to go. Our only complaint is the fabric is only 41" wide which makes pattern layout difficult, especially for circle skirts. More color choices would be a definite plus!
