Lesson Plan: What you Learn

Lesson 1 : Getting Started With Exterior Frames
00:19:45

Meet instructor Lisa Lam, expert handbag-pattern designer. Lisa starts class by helping you choose frames for the Easy Peasy Clutch Bag you'll make in class. Then, find out how to draft the pattern for any frame, even adding pleats or gathers for easy glamor.

Lesson 2 : Constructing the Easy Peasy Purse
00:25:35

Make sure your bag will stand up to the test! Follow along with Lisa as she constructs the Easy Peasy Bag and carefully glues it into the frame for secure, professional results.

Lesson 3 : Preparing the Carpet Bag
00:22:38

How about a bag that's a little bigger? Get on your way by preparing fabric and pockets for a roomy carpet bag with an interior frame. Lisa also guides you through choosing fabrics, constructing a flap with a gorgeous hand-stitched clasp, and sewing elastic-top pockets for the inside of your bag.

Lesson 4 : Constructing the Carpet Bag
00:18:45

Bring that bag together! Construct the lining and exterior of your carpet bag with step-by-step instruction that you can sew along with. As you go, you'll attach the pockets you made in the previous lesson.

Lesson 5 : Completing the Carpet Bag
00:24:04

You're almost there. In this lesson, you'll add a plastic bag bottom and feet to support your bag. Then join the exterior and lining layers before Lisa shows you the simple steps to inserting an interior frame. And you've got a bag!
