Fringe for Ottoman

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 1/4 yds suede fabric
  • 5 yds Heat'n Bond® Ultrahold
  • Press cloth
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Following manufacturer's instructions, cover wrong side of fabric in Heat'n Bond®. Allow to cool, then remove paper.
  2. With wrong-sides together, fold piece in half (long sides together). Using press cloth, fuse piece together following manufacturers instructions. Allow fused piece to cool.
  3. Cut 15 1/2"-long fringe that is 3/8" wide throughout bottom length of piece.

Fringe Pillows

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2 yds suede-like material
  • Poly-Fil
  • 2 yds Heat'n Bond® Ultrahold
  • Press cloth
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cover wrong side of 1 yd of fabric with HeatnBond, following manufacturers instructions, allow to cool, then peel off paper.
  2. Fold bonded piece wrong-sides together. Using press cloth, fuse piece together following manufacturer's instructions. Allow fused piece to cool.
  3. Cut 2 18"x18" squares (these will serve as front and back pieces) out of non-fused fabric, and one each of pillow base and pillow fringe cover out of fused fabric. 1/2" seam allowance is included in all pieces.
  4. Edge stitch fringe cover on top of base piece, then topstitch 3/8" away from the edge, toward inside of cover piece.
  5. Trim fringe section into 3/8" inch strips. Edge stitch pillow base to pillow front.
  6. Sew pillow front to pillow back (right sides together), leaving a small hole for turning. Clip corners, and turn entire piece right-side out and stuff with Poly-Fil. Slip stitch small opening closed.
  7. Repeat directions for additional pillows.

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 yd Heat'n Bond® UltraHold
  • 1 yd suede-like fabric
  • McCall's® M7264 pattern
  • Press cloth
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Following manufacturers instructions, cover wrong side of fabric with Heat'n Bond®, allow to cool, then remove paper.
  2. Fold bonded piece wrong-sides together. Using press cloth, fuse piece together following manufacturer's instructions. Allow fused piece to cool.
  3. Follow McCall's® pattern for purse construction, using bonded fabric for outer fringed portion of purse.
