I purchased this serger 4days ago. It is already set up and ready to go. I really liked that it had a pick up handle, and it works grat so far.
~Very hard to thread. ~Did not include the parts that it said it was supposed to include (little screwdriver, etc.) ~Constantly stitched wrong/string broke/tension constantly out of whack. This machine is no good. I used it for 3 hours and am taking it back and buying something better.
I have wanted a serger for a long time. I got one for Christmas. After I had it for 2 weeks it froze up I took it back to Jo Ann Fabrics and they replaced it. So, now it has been working fine hopefully it keeps on working fine . I do have problems sometimes after I have threaded the machine everything looks right then I have to UN-thread it and re-thread everything again.

I have had mine since winter.. Had an initial problem with a non-functioning foot control, but that was quickly replaced by Singer. Any tension probems I have had, I can usually trace back to threading. It is VERY important to make sure the thread is firmly between the tension discs. I have sewn for years and thought I had been doing that but yesterday this serger was making me nuts with poor tension, so I rethreaded, this time making sure the threads were well into the discs and the stitches were perfect. Since I got it, I have made many baby gifts on this machine and they have all turned out as I wanted them to. You have to be smarter than the machine... ;-)
I enjoy using my serger. It has done everything I have needed it for. I would purchase another just like it.
I have worked in a sewing machine shop selling top-shelf (& top-price) sergers and I must say, most of them drove me crazy. I had a Singer 14u32 that I bought after having a TERRIBLE babylock. I used it for 10 years with no problem at all. Replaced it with a used 14u34 that I wore out as well. Replaced it with this one None of my Singer sergers have given me any trouble at all, aside from routine maintenance. No frills, just reliable.
this machine is not good at all...I used it and it doesn't work the way it said! The lower looper is cutting the thread...took to a Singer special repairing place, cost me another $80...after 1 week, the upper looper broke, it will cost another $80. Reparing the machine cost more than buying a different brand serger machine. When I see Singer, it makes me mad!
