Ok

Im a complete beginner and its suited my purpose quite well. I obviously dont do anything too adventurous but I have managed to sew a quilt with the quilting foot and it turned out ok. Having major issues trying to find said quilting foot though so may have to upgrade to a different machine. Threads used to get all jumbled up when I first got it but I found when I read the instructions right through I was able to sort it and havent had a problem since.

Do not purchase this machine

I received this machine for Christmas. My mother thought with a name like Singer it must be good. Now seeing reviews I would have told her to pick something else. After set up I have been unable to get the machine to sew with up all the threads getting jumbled up. A friend who sews all the time tried to fix this as well with no luck. It also is not very sturdy and is loud. Find another machine.

This machine has no power and jambs constantly. You can sew a straight line for about 6" and then it stops and the motor starts to smoke. Worst machine ever. Don't waste your time or money. My mom had an older model Singer that you could drop off of a building and still sew a straight line through 4 layers of leather. This one can't sew through 2 layers of t-shirt material without some sort of problem. Save yourself the frustration and spend a few more bucks to get something better

Bad Choice

This machine is the worst Singer I've ever had in my 50 years of sewing! After about the 3rd time I used it the zigzag went out. The machine only does strait stitch now, or it won't work. Very cheaply made. Not the old Singer quality at all!!! I would advise you to choose another machine!

Don't buy this machine. the bobbin keeps getting jammed. It doesn't work right, I can't get more than one stitch in and it gets jammed. Save time & Money by picking a different machine. (p.s. I have only opened it today and its already acting this way)
