Singer 4432 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beginner crafter I did some on line research and settled on this model. It had good reviews. I didn't know what I needed and after reading a lot I decided on this model. Of course it went on sale about 10 days after my purchase. Oh well, anyway I am pleased with the model. I tried for HOURS to get the auto threader to work. I watched 5 or 6 tutorials on line and followed all the steps. I picked up a cheap self threader (33 cents) and now I'm sewing and liking it. I have used it with cotton and foam making can koozies, it is thick and the 4432 goes through the three layers with ease. I would recommend the Singer 4432, just don't count on the automatic threader to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wonderful machine sews like a dream... This is the machine that has saved Christmas this year. I love the ease of all fabrics that feed through this I have had it for 2 years and never had any problems with it.My husband is active duty and the "cheap" machine I owned before couldn't sew his name tags on it couldn't go through all the fabric.I have no doubts that this is the the machine that can.I've worked on fleece flannel , stretchy metallic and love it.I don't dread sewing on this machine!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted one year Bought this machine last year to replace a 40 year-old Necchi that finally died. This machine is fairly basic and fine for simple projects. Anything of size will tax its abilities. It liked to randomly tangle itself up into a marble sized ball of thread. This required me to take out my project, spend 30 minutes with a seam ripper to detangle the mess without ruining the fabric, re-thread everything, and start again where it left off. The tension wasn't calibrated right out of the box and I had to use the highest setting on the tension dial to get decent stitches. Still wasn't even but it was close enough, though left no room for adjusting for different fabrics. Thread often didn't feed smoothly through the machine and broke many times. Overall the machine was OK. I wouldn't buy another one. I expect them to last longer than one year, for what I paid for it repairing it didn't make any sense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very strong and durable!! I have a few sewing machines but I use this one to sew leather hides and layers of upholstery fabric!!!!! This machine is SO strong and durable!! It's a classic mechanical machine that feels like it'll sew through anything, like your grandmother's 1950's machine. The knob has a few combinations that you need to look up in the manual (I've made a little chart and posted on my machine) and set it up when changing stitches, but other than that, it's made really simple and easy to use, hassle free. Great value for the price. LOVE it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No complaints! I bought this for my fiancee a few months ago. I was considering this vs cheaper machines, but I'm glad I went with this one. We are both pretty new to sewing machines, so we haven't treated this one as good as we should, and it is still going strong. The stitches are very tight, and that's the only down(?) side, since sometimes we wanna just do some rough loose stitches that are easy to take out! Is this better than cheaper machines? Not as far as I've seen Is this a good machine? Yes Would I recommend it? Yes, but a cheaper machine could also work just as well. P.S. Youtube has some pretty good tutorials on this exact machine if you are a beginner! The books are helpful too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible This machine has now broken on me twice, and let me tell you, I have barely used it so there was just no reason at all for it to stop working. I think it is just poorly made.  I repaired it the first time, but I refuse to put more money into it. I'd rather put the money toward a better machine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big problems! I am sorry to report that this was the second Singer 4432 Heavy Duty sewing machine you have sent me and neither of them worked right. This one I took into my local JoAnn's, and had one of the clerks try to make a buttonhole with it because it wouldn't do it for me. By the time she finished trying it, the sewing machine would only stitch backwards. I am waiting for a return label so I can send it back for a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Biggest Bang for the Buck I sew 6 days a week. I jump from 3 different machines. I started sewing in 1965. In the service, I was a parachute rigger so sew, sew, sew... I started a strap and harness very small business in 2012. I bought this one to replace a Brother that was getting tired. after only 2 years of heavy use. Out of the box - I had some problems but managed to get them worked out. I think it got shook-up in transit. I made the settings to what I needed and tried sewing some double layer nylon webbing. I had to make only one upper tension adjustment and it has continued to produce the exact same results. This one is all metal so I hope it holds up longer. I am very happy with it and will consider a second when my other one starts to act up. My third is a brother embroidery machine. I'm hoping that holds up a long long time but if it doesn't, I'll try the singer embroidery machine. I recommend the 4432. Super strong machine.
