Have a product to make...Bought new a Singer 4423 and took it back 2nd day due to bobbin holder spinning loose..was told can't use #69 thread... Went to smaller thread with another machine and still havivg some problems on multi layers.. When it works it is good but,.does not work part time.. Changed needles, thread, and tensions. Have a old all steel Singer I am going rebuild and use. Wish I never bought this one!!!!
I have had the machine for a year now and have used it for about 5 hours. It spent more time in the repair shop than at my home. I have contacted Singer many times but got nothing out of them. Went from paying $299 for this machine to paying $535 after all repairs. I think I will give it to good will and put my money into a new machine and different company. I will NEVER purchase another Singer.Went from the best company to the worst.
This was to be an exciting purchase. I bought my first singer in 1968. It was time for a new one. I'm been sewing since my Grandmother taught me to sew on her old Singer treadle machine. So last Fall I made the decision to stay witht the tried and true Singer. The timing skipped in the first month, so I returned it to the retailer. Less than a month later again. This time I spend half of the machine value and had it repaired. It worked fine for a while now it will not sew a stitch and needle position will not move for me. Now I'm stuck Singer won't do anything to stand by the product. This is my second machine in my life of sewing. So very disappointed. So off I go to refurbish my trusty old 60's singer and spend money on that.
Bought this about three months ago. Have been sewing fleece with no trouble. Very nice working machine! Love the larger bed to sew on. Much better all around than my older Brother machine!! Only bad thing is the light doesn't isn't very good. Needs more light, so need to buy an additional side light.
Jumped timing again. Already had it fixed once for $100, not it is broke again. Going to call Singer tomorrow. Works fine when it works. Have owned it for a year and only used it for maybe 6 months. Sorry I bought this one.
I returned mine in less two weeks. Very disappointed. I had a kemore for 40 years till I could not get parts any more. What a mistake getting rid of more Kemore.
I bought this because I sew for a living and my regular sewing machine could not sew thru webbing and thicker fleece layers without jamming up. At first I loved this machine and it worked well for about 5 months. Now I can't move the needle with the side to side switch, the needle hits the base housing and the thread constantly binds up behind the fabric. I change needles several times a day thinking my needles were causing the issue but it's not the needles. I can't get clean seams and my work looks like a 5 year old sewed it thanks to this machine. Don't waste your money because even if it works initially---eventually it will start to mess up.
Needle literally shattered into pieces. It didn't seem to run right when I first started using it to begin with. I tired to return it but they wouldn't take it back tolled me I had to contact Singer which I did. I mean 5 minutes of use and they wanted me to send it out to get repaired? I shouldn't have to for the price I paid for this junky thing.
