Singer® E-Z Stitch Toy Sewing Machine is rated 0.7 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work This machine was so frustrating for my 7 y.o. daughter, and for me as I tried to help her. The chain-stitch is so loose it won't hold two pieces of fabric together when it does work. The method recommended for locking the stitches at the end is tedious and difficult...half of the stitches pull out while trying to thread a giant needle and hand sew a knot. The machine's needle was constantly coming un-threaded; it was impossible to get it threaded again with the safety guard on, and nearly impossible once I pried the guard off. I spent much more time trying to un-jam and re-thread the machine than my daughter spent trying to sew. Disappointing.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from disappointing I purchased this product on-line the day after Christmas. It took the entire 7-10 days for the shipping... once arrived we delivered it to a special little girl that we hadn't seen for a few years, and we had planned on making a project that night! Not only did I buy the machine, but purchaced many items to go with it! HOW DISAPPOINTING it was when we were unable to get the chain sticth to stitch with tension! We worked on it for 3 hours trying to be patient. If you want something that works, please do NOT purchase this product! I am now stuck with a non-working machine. Guess I will use it for scrapbooking...with paper products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money This was for my 9 year old as a Christmas present. There was only a 2 minute period of time where we were able to sew fabric together. The remainder of the time spent (2 hours) with this was trying to adjust the tension so the stitch would work. There is not much to this so it should have been easy to adjust but the knob wouldn't stop, no matter what way it was being turned. It was, therefore, impossible to tell where "medium" tension was located. The instructions were clear in that too much or too little tension would cause the stitch to "miss." I trusted the Singer brand and this sounded like the perfect machine for a beginner. What a tremendous disappointment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your time or money on this Yes, it's a toy and no, my expectations weren't too high. This machine cost me more time in frustration and fuel in returning it than it was worth. It's the cheapest plastic. Threading it is what you will spend most of your time doing. If you do happen to get it threaded properly and actually get to sew with it, your child will cry because it doesn't actually sew anything! It makes an attempt to do a loop stitch very unsuccessfully. Even when trying to use real thread instead of the thread which came with it, still nothing. Save you and your kids the heartache and the headache. If I could take more stars away, I would.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from Terrible! Got my mother-in-law to buy this for my daughter for Christmas. She was so excited to get it! The foot doesn't lift and isn't stable when attempting to sew. It does a non-locking chain stitch that is inconsistent at best. The stitch pulls out with minimal resistance and it is almost impossible to remove fabric from the machine (even when being careful) without pulling out the few stitches it made. Very poor quality and not even worth a 50 cent garage sale buy, much less buying it new. AVOID!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't do it We purchased this for my daughter's christmas gift, and it broke almost immediately. It's no easier to use than a regular sewing machine. Since the needle is enclosed, it may be considered safer, but after 30 minutes of trying, I could not thread the enclosed needle. The needle threader they provided snapped in 1/2 without any effort on my part, and the actual sewing assembly moves while sewing so the needle often hits the presser foot.

Rated 0 out of 5 by from so not worth it! I got this for my son, since he wanted to sew like me, and I didn't want him using something as powerful as my old machine. It was a complete disappointment. The machine is terribly flimsy and after chainstitching only a few inches, it seized up and just won't work any more. Fiddling with the tension and waxing the thread did no good. I knew it wouldn't quilt like mine, but with a Singer sticker, I expected to be of slightly greater quality than this!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not purchase again Although this is a cute idea and my daughter was so excited to get it for Christmas, the machine is poorly designed. As an adult, I can barely get the needle threaded myself, much less my daughter. In addition, the stitches easily pull out when taking the cloth out of the sewing area. I have not been able to get one clean pass through resulting in workable stitches. Both my daughter and I are very disappointed.
