SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Bernat® Softee® Chunky (3.5 oz/100 g; 108 yds/99 m) 2 balls for all sizes: Taupe Grey or Wine or Seagreen.
  • Size U.S. K/101?2 crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

DIRECTIONS:

    • SIZES
    • To fit children’s/adult’s shoe size:
    • Small: 5/6 Medium: 7/8 Large: 9/10
    • Finished foot length:
    • Small: 9” Medium: 91?2" Large: 101?2"

    • GAUGE
    • 9 sc and 10 rows = 4"
    • The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ). When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.
    • Note: Obtaining gauge is very important for this project to ensure correct measurements.

    • Sole
    • Beg at heel, ch 4.
    • Row 1: [RS]. 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch.
    • 3 sc. Turn.
    • Row 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn.
    • Rep last row once more. 7 sc.
    • Row 3: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
    • Rep last row until work from beg measures 7 [71?2-8]", ending on a WS row.
    • Shape toe:
    • row 1: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn.
    • Rep last row once more. 3 sc. Fasten off.

    • Upper
    • Beg at toe, ch 4.
    • Row 1: [RS]. 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch. 3 sc. Turn.
    • Row 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc to end of row. 6 sc. Turn.
    • Row 3: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn.
    • Rep last row 4 [5-5] times more. 16 [18-18] sc.
    • Next row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

    • Divide for leg opening: Left side:

    • Leg
    • Join yarn with sl st to Upper at center back seam.
    • Rnd 1: Ch 1. Work 26 [28-30] sc evenly around leg opening. Join with sl st to first sc.
    • Rnd 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
    • Rep last rnd until Leg measures 6? [7-7?]”. Fasten off.
    • Join Upper and Sole: With RS facing, join yarn with sl st at center back seam of Upper. Working through both thicknesses, work 1 rnd of sc evenly around outer edge. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
