NOTES
Vest is worked from the top down. After working upper back and two upper fronts, pieces are worked in one piece. Increases are made to form the swing shaping.
UPPER BACK
Ch 51 (63, 69, 69, 69, 75). Beginning with set-up row, work in Little Crowns pattern until back measures 7 (7-1/2, 8, 8-1/2, 9, 9-1/2) "/18. Fasten off. Cut yarn, set aside.
UPPER FRONTS (make 2 the same)
Ch 21 (21, 21, 21, 27, 27). Beginning with set-up row, work in Little Crowns pattern until fronts measure same as back. Cut yarn after first front; set aside.
Work second front the same but do not cut yarn after second front.
Join Upper Fronts and Back
Work in pattern across second front, ch 29 (29, 29, 41, 53, 65) for underarm, work in pattern across back, ch 29 (29, 29, 41, 53, 65) for underarm, work in pattern across first front—total of 24 (26, 27, 31, 37, 42) repeats.
Work in pattern across all sts until body measures 6" m from underarm, ending with Row 1. Note: Each underarm has 5 (5, 5, 7, 9, 11) repeats. Place marker in repeat directly centered under armhole.
Begin Flare Shaping
Row 2: Work in pattern to marked repeat, inc as follows: [(dc, ch 1) 6 times, dc] all in second ch-3 sp, continue across to second underarm and work inc repeat, continue across row in pattern.
Next row: Work in pattern to marked repeat, inc as follows: *(sc in ch-1 sp, ch 3) 5 times, sc in ch-1 sp, continue across to second underarm and work inc repeat, continue across row in pattern.
Next row: Work in pattern to marked repeat, inc as follows: [(dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc] all in second ch-3 sp, [(dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc] all in 4th ch-3 sp of same repeat, continue across to second underarm and work inc repeat, continue across row in pattern.
Note: There are now 2 complete pattern repeats where there was one.
Work pattern Row 1 with no changes. Place a marker in both of these repeats for future repeat.
Work even in pattern for 8 rows. Work incs in the two marked repeats. Place marker in the two center repeats for future repeat.
Work even in pattern for 8 rows. Work incs in the two marked repeats. Work in pattern until front edge of vest measures 21 (22, 23, 24, 25, 26)"/53.5, ending after Row 2. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Weave in ends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't figure this out I am so disappointed I can't get this pattern to work, it just doesn't seem right. I have tried to research the little crown pattern stitch for reference and can't find it anywhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trouble following pattern If I reading this pattern right, every crown is increased by 3 crowns the next time you crochet row 2 if you do a crown in each chain 3 space. Can someone help me?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Help please- don't feel comfortable rating yet This pattern seems to be very curly at the top back. Did anyone else find this and if yes, how did you overcome it? I ended up taking it all out as it was too curly and would not lie flat.
