10 sts + 14 rows = about 4” (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).

Afghan is worked in one piece in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with a Garter st (k every row) border.
A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
With A, cast on 150 sts.
Knit 6 rows for Garter st (k every row) border.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: K5, p to last 5 sts, k5.
Keeping first and last 5 sts in Garter st for borders and remaining sts in St st (k on RS, p on WS) work until piece measures about 5 in. (12.5 cm) from beginning.
*Change to B and continue as established until B stripe measures 2 in. (5 cm).**
Change to C and continue as established until C stripe measures 7 in. (18 cm).
Change to A and continue as established until A stripe measures 5 in. (12.5 cm).
Rep from * once; then from * to **.
Change to C and continue as established until C stripe measures 5 in. (12.5 cm). Knit 6 rows for Garter st border.
Weave in ends.
