Yo-ho-ho, a sailor's awl for me!
Took me a while to figure out how to keep the bobbin inside. Finally resorted to a small hammer I keep in my workroom. Otherwise, it's a traditional sailor's sewing awl, good for lighter canvas and leather, and fairly quick to use. For truly heavy work, get a good sailor's palm.

Too Fragile for big projects.
The size of Speedy stich really matters. It whild have been great for a smaller, less tuff project like , small leather pouches or a patch here and there. Our project was too thick and we broke both of the needles within the first 15 minutes! Don't buy this for a big-tough project.

Great gadget
Liked the Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl. It is so much better than sewing with needle and thread. My husband used this awl to fix, or resew, the golf cart cover. I wouldn’t call it “speedy”!

Great tool
It took me a while to use it, but once we had some mild weather I was able to finally put it to good use. Once I got used to it, all was well. It's great for outdoor and large projects that need stitching.
