The machine itself and the dies are great BUT I bought the bundle at the holidays with what included the the carry bag. The machine does not fit in this bag so i was fooled. When I complained about this false advertising, I received no reply. No customer service here. it is trylu buyer beware.
I came from using a Cuttlebug machine to the Grand Caliber. My Cuttlebug was not cutting the intricate dies that I purchased from Spellbinders or Cherry Lynn. I had to make many, many passes to get the machine to cut the dies. I love, love this machine. It is easy to crank and cuts the dies in one pass. You will not regret buying this die cutter.
You can use this with other dies other than spellbinders unfortunately it doesnt work with many of the tim holtz dies unless they are the thinner ones. can also use cuttlebug embossing folders with this. Wasn't great with cutting fabric though but maybe a new cutting plate will (mine is warping) will fix that.
I have a small class of paper crafters in a Senior Apt. Building. We use this all the time. The larger plate, lets us cut two sets of dies at once. Everyone gets some of everything. Its quiet, easy to run. The larger handle, easy to grip. We have so much fun with this. Not as heavy as alot of the die cutters. I roll two big scrapbookers carts to the class each week and appreciate that it fits nicey in one, along with quite a few others things. I have a Big Kick on my stamping table at home, this is great for our class.
I purchased this with a gift card my husband gave me for Christmas. Best investment I have ever made for cardmaking and scrapbooking. The dies have some of the most intricate detail possible. I am totally addicted and have left my Cricut and 40 some cartridges for this product. When I went to my sister's for vacation I took my Grand Calibur and my neice was so impressed went out the next day and bought herself one. Guess I was a good ad for Spellbinder!!
As a new paper crafter, I found this machine easy to operate. I was able to create beautiful die cuts the very first time! The emboss detail is amazing. I am really impressed by its ability to use other machine's dies in the same easy fashion. And, spellbinders dies are high quality without the large price tag which makes it affordable to buy many different types of dies. I completely stand behind this product. Thanks for reading.
This is by far the best machine for thin dies. All those dies you own with intricate details that don't cut smoothly in other machines will cut beautifully in this one because it applies more pressure per square inch. I've owned many different machines, but this is my go-to for thin dies and embossing. It also cuts XL dies made by spellbinder or multiple dies at the same time. Have fun!
