Does the job!
I was skeptical after reading that it was difficult to hand sew through the plastic with a needle. But I am so glad i tried it!
I used a 1/16" drill bit to pre-drill holes where i wanted to sew through the snap. It was then very easy to use heavy duty thread to attach exactly where I wanted to secure on a straw purse heavy canvas lining edge. Now i can close/open the purse easily!

Perfect for My Cape
The heavy wool fabric was too bulky to do buttonholes and the magnetic snaps were sturdy and made the cape easy to take on and off. A great product!

A great fastener
I use these magnetic snaps to make tote bags. They keep the bags securely fastened. They have to be sewn in with a sewing machine. You can't get a hand needle to go through them.

Strong magnet but tricky to sew
I bought this to reinforce a weak snap on a backpack. Magnets are strong. The directions say “stitch in groove to secure”. Sounds simple. However, you need to puncture holes through the hard plastic first in order to “stitch”. I suggest using a very thick needle to make the holes . In addition, Dritz could premake the holes.

Just what I needed
Just what I needed to get my project completed. Went online to research. Found what I needed. Went to the store to purchase what I needed for the first part of my project. Went back to get more. They did not have enough but was able to purchase the remaining items online. Fast and easy.

Creation Perfection
I started making my own, heavy-duty "magic mesh" screens a couple of years ago. Until discovering this wonderful product, I had previously used magnets off of old, store bought magic mesh screens. These old magnets were somewhat hard to attach, to line up and came off when my dogs went through the opening in the screen. I'd have to super glue them on making them un-reuseable. I have developed a technique for sewing them on. The Dritz magnetic sew-on snaps are wonderful beyond wonderful for my screens.

Yes! I finally found one!!!!!
I have been making bags for a couole years. This one I just made called for a magnetic button. I went to about 5 fabric stores in pa area that are basically just material books and notions but no magnetic buttons! I went online at joanns and saw some. My husband and I live in seaford de and were headed to new castle de so I went in joanns and there they were!!! Best of all there was a 50 percent sale on notions so I bought 6 magnetic buttons for future projects!!! Thank you joann fabric!!!!!
