Susan Bates Luxite Plastic Crochet Hook Set is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value I have two sets of these. Great for beginners who don't want to spend a lot of money. They're plastic so they're flexible which can be a bit annoying. They're lightweight which is also a plus. They're extra cheap so I usually use them when I'm travelling so if I lose one it's no big deal. I find them interchangable with the metal if you need to switch. Downside: Sometimes you'll get one with a little catch where the plastic was cut off or something, if this happens a fine nail file can take care of that just be gentle! I prefer metal, but it's a nice option, and can't beat the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I own several sets I think they are excellent overall and provide good contrast to most yarn colors (except white of course). A fine grit emery board will take off any small catchy spots. To make the hook sizes easier to read, rub the area with a dark colored childs crayon and then wipe the excess away with a paper towel or tissue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought more! I am always leaving hooks with my not-yet-competed projects. So I was looking for an inexpensive "spare" set of hooks. Usually I only use plastic as a last resort and so I figured that's what I would do with these. I was surprised at their good feel in my hand and also the smooth way they worked the yarn! I liked them so much I bought another set. Now I can start even more projects!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Newbie Crocheters I teach knitting and crocheting to Seniors with limited budgets in the park district so the price on these is right and better with a 50% coupon...I recommend these to those not sure if crochet is for them so that there is money remaining for yarn....and if crochet isn't something that they want to continue not much is spent on supplies. Senior budgets are difficult and these are a good starting set. I myself purchase these for a quick hook for someone who has lost a hook or forgot one for class...or for crochet alongs at camp in the summer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like these ... I own this set and really, really like these. I have small hands, short fingers and carpal tunnel, so I thought they would cause a problem for me to hold onto. I was wrong. Also, now that I've read other readers' comments, I'm going to get another set just for traveling. I'm very cautious with my things, but I've been switching them from home to my travel bag. That way I'll always have a set on hand, no matter where I am.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from smooth comfortable grip I do a lot of crocheting and bought a package of these to take on vacation so I wouldn't "misplace" my good hooks. These are very comfortable to hold. They don't get dinged like aluminum hooks and start catching on your yarn, These stay smooth and easy to work with. Also if you have trouble with holding a stiff metal hook. I find these a nice alternative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice to use! If you like Susan Bates inline hooks and want something lighter than aluminum, you'll like these hooks! They are surprisingly sturdy and well-balanced for lightweight plastic. Yes, they may be rather boring in all white, but for the performance and the price, I can't complain! I keep mine in my crochet travel tote and use them often. Good value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I really love the Susan Bates inline hooks! These are very economical and easy to use. I haven't had any trouble snagging yarn. PLUS no problems with airport security! Admittedly it was my fine steel hooks that set off a buzzer, but now I make sure to travel with plastic hooks.
