Description

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fabric A – 5/8 yard (or enough to cut three strips – depending on border fabric)
  • Fabric B – 5/8 yard
  • Fabric C – 1 yard
  • Fabric D – 7/8 yard
  • Fabric E – 5/8 yard
  • Fabric F – 2 yards
  • For binding – 1/2 yard
  • Backing – 5 yards
  • Twin size batting
  • Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron & pressing surface
  • Sewing machine
Quilt size 68" x 82"

DIRECTIONS:

    Use 1/4" seam throughout
  1. Cutting
    • From fabric A cut:
      • Three (3) strips 7" x WOF
      • Sew together two strips.
        • Cut one (1) 7" x 54-1/2"
        • Cut one (1) 7" x 14-1/2"
        • Cut one (1) 7" x 42-1/2" from remaining strip
        • From fabric B cut:
          • Three (3) strips 7" x WOF.
          • Sew together two strips
            • Cut one (1) 7" x 48-1/2"
            • Cut one (1) 7" x 20-1/2"
            • Cut one (1) 7" x 18-1/2" from remaining strip
            • From fabric C cut:
              • Five (5) strips 7" x WOF
              • Piece together three strips
                • Cut two (2) 7" x 54-1/2"
                • Cut one (1) 7" x 36-1/2"
                • Cut one (1) 7" x 38-1/2" from remaining strip
                • From fabric D cut:
                  • Four (4) strips 7" x WOF
                  • Piece together two strips
                    • Cut one (1) 7” x 54-1/2"
                    • Cut one (1) 7" x 34-1/2"
                    • Cut one (1) 7" x 36-1/2"
                    • From fabric E cut:
                      • Three (3) strips 7" x WOF
                        • Cut one (1) 7" x 6-1/2"
                        • Two (2) 7" x 26-1/2"
                        • One (1) 7" x 30-1/2"
                        • From fabric F cut:
                          • Nine (9) 2-1/2" x 68-1/2"
                          • Four (4) 7" x 6-1/2"
                          • One (1) 7" x 8-1/2"
                          • Five (5) 7" x 4-1/2"
                          • Two (2) 7" x 14-1/2"
                          • One (1) 7" x 10-1/2"
                        • Sew rows together as in diagram and then join the rows with the 2-1/2" x 68-1/2" strips.
                        • Sandwich backing, batting and top together and quilt as desired
                        • Sew on binding.
