Named as one of American Artist Magazine's "25 Artists of Tomorrow" in 2012, Kerry Dunn is a representational oil painter and traditional oil painting teacher in Philadelphia, PA. Dunn approaches teaching with a focus on the core principles of drawing and painting. His work is featured in various galleries across the country and frequently consists of portraits, sill life, figure and plein air works.

Materials: What you Need

1 . 16" x 20" (40 cm x 50 cm) or 18" x 24" (45 cm x 60 cm) primed canvas (cotton or linen) 
2 . Filbert bristle #2 and #4 brushes (three of each) 
3 . Filbert bristle #6 #8 and #10 brushes (one of each) 
4 . Stand oil or Linseed oil
5 . Palette knife
6 . Palette: wood or plastic, 16" x 20" (40 cm x 50 cm) or larger
7 . Handheld mirror and large mirror
8 . Odorless mineral spirits
9 . Paper towels
10 . Professional-quality oil paints: burnt sienna, burnt umber or raw umber; permanent rose or alizarin crimson; cadmium scarlet, cadmium red or napthol scarlet; cadmium yellow medium; cadmium yellow lemon or yellow light; viridian; ultramarine blue; titanium white
11 . Color-balanced light
12 . Neutral-colored backdrop such as fabric curtain or mat board)
13 . Two easels (one for canvas, one for large mirror)
