I own 4 of these boxes and use them to store my 1100 yd embroidery threads by color/hue. They fit perfectly on the shelf stacked 2 high. The best part is the slide locking/stacking system! It's been about a year and they have held up very well...thus far!
Received two of these for Xmas - perfect for the 275 yd spools of embroidery thread - can store spools inbetween and the cover fits so they can stack perfectly. Now I have purchased the 1100 yd spools and can not finangle any way to store them properly and still get the cover on so it is closed all the way. I will have to find another storage solution for the big spools. Good, reasonable storage for standard spools...not embroidery threads.
I love these boxes. Stumbled upon them while searching for something to organize my Kreinik threads-for cross stitch! Just fantastic!!!!
I mainly have a variety of thread spool sizes, mostly Gutermann, so these work well for me. If I need to put two big spools near each other, I use the peg in between to store bobbins w/ that thread. The small size works well for my small workspace, too.
I bought two of these boxes to store my regular size thread spools in. I like the way they stack, but I have a third of pegs unused because the spools won't fit next to each other.
As mentioned above, the pins are too close together. I spend alot of time moving my threads around to try and get the best use of it. It's still really nifty, but quite a few spindles end up going to waste.
I like how they stack and I use them for my embroidery thread. They fit nicely in these boxes. I put my larger spools in the middle and the smaller ones along the sides. I also stack my extra bobbins on the spindles.
I bought 2 cases to hold regular sewing thread, like other users. However, when I went to put my threads in the box, I found there was not enough space between the pins. I ended up using it for my small embroidery threads, but find a lot of wasted space when used this way. I also found the hard plastic broke/cracked easily. The stacking feature, however, is fantastic.
