PAINT MARKER DYING

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • White T-shirt
  • Plastic gloves
  • Set of Tulip® Fabric Markers
  • Small spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol
  • Flat working surface
  • Washer and dryer

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lay the T-shirt on a flat hard surface.
  2. Using the fabric markers, create a desired design.
  3. Spray the marker areas with rubbing alcohol to desired saturation.
  4. Allow to dry.
  5. Wash normal on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry.

GALAXY DYE

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Dark or white T-shirt
  • Plastic gloves
  • Bottle of Tulip® Glistening Gold fabric spray paint
  • Tulip® One-Step-Tie-Dye Kit
  • Rubber bands
  • Washer and dryer
  • Flat working surface

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Wash the T-shirt to remove all residues.
  2. While T-Shirt is slightly damp, spread the T-shirt on a flat protected surface.
  3. Twist the front of the shirt in a spiral direction in 3 different locations. Hold in place with rubber bands.
  4. Spray those areas with the Glistening Gold spray paint.
  5. Twist the locations 2 more times and spray with the assorted paint tubes, using red, orange, purple and blue.
  6. Let sit for about 30 minutes.
  7. Open up T-shirt while still on the flat surface and lightly spray again with the colors and the glistening gold spray paint.
  8. Allow the T-shirt to dry.
  9. Wash normal on gentle cycle.

ICE DYING

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • White T-shirt
  • Plastic gloves
  • Mason jar
  • Big bowl of ice
  • Assorted packages of Tulip® One-Step Tie Dye® (colors of your choice)
  • Washer and dryer

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Wash T-shirt to remove all residues. Leave slightly damp.
  2. Add one layer of crushed ice to Mason jar. Sprinkle a little dye from one of the packets over the ice.
  3. Submerge a small section of the T-shirt into the jar, leaving most of the shirt out of the jar.
  4. Add another layer of ice and sprinkle another layer of dye. Use the same color or switch to another color of dye.
  5. Add more of the shirt to the jar.
  6. Repeat steps until the entire shirt is in the jar.
  7. Sprinkle the final layer of dye on top and stack ice on top of the last layer.
  8. Allow the jar to sit overnight (about 12 hours).
  9. Remove shirt from jar, rinse at sink until water runs clear.
  10. Wash the shirt on gentle cycle and dry.

DYE SPLATTER

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • White T-shirt
  • Plastic gloves
  • 2- 3 small bottles of bubble wand soap
  • 2-3 different colors of Tulip® One-Step Tie Dye® packets
  • Roll of wide painters tape
  • Roll of wax paper
  • Washer and dryer

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lay the T-shirt on a flat hard surface.
  2. Using the painters tape and wax paper, mask out an area desired to be designed.
  3. Fill bubble wand bottles with different colors of dye.
  4. Splatter, flick or drip the bubble wand gel onto the taped out area.
  5. Change the choice of color, as desired.
  6. Allow to dry and then wash on a gentle cycle and dry.
