Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tim does it again It took me a bit and some YouTube learning via viewing to really get the hang of these pens. They are not my #1 go-to for a watercolor effect (I am far from being a water colorist!) but in true Tim Holtz style, these are versatile, and with any water pen can blend and move around and add a colorful new tool (or toy) to art, whether it's rubber stamping or backgrounds on a page. On sale, these are a deal.  Full price, other options prob offer a better value and more professional ingredients/results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Many Techniques Distress Markers are great for many crafting techniques. I use them for water coloring by writing with one on an acrylic block, picking up the ink with a water brush then water coloring on a stamped image. In addition, you can color with them directly onto your project then use a water brush to blend the colors. Or, you can use them directly on your project without using a water brush.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally ordered some The problem with markers is they have to be one color. Paint used to be that way, but with interference and glitter paints can now have more character. The reason why I say this is Distress Ink pads are not a solid color which is the genius of the product line. The ink in any one pad has different colorants that respond with water and application. Tea dye ink pad is not a solid color -- use a blending tool and you get a rich, complex aged color. This tea dye pen makes a stab at the primary color of the corresponding ink pad but it comes out flat. That does not make it or nay of these markers unusable! Far from it. It just means you have to be careful with your expectations. I also picked up pumice stone and gathered twigs and have the same comments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Markers I have bought many colors of these markers and find them useful for many projects. I have learned how to use them on stamps, to color in a stamped image and learned how to blend them. I love the new monthly colors that are available. Great markers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from colors I expected the tattered rose to be more pink. But it looks like beige. The other colors I ordered are darker than I expected.
