Trick or Treat Banner

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Sheets of black, grey or white patterned scrapbooking paper 12" x 12" (12)
  • Pieces of black paper slightly larger than the 12" x 12" (12)
  • Spool of 1/2" purple ribbon
  • Spool of 1/2" orange ribbon
  • Spool of 1/2" light orange ribbon
  • Metal straight edge or ruler
  • Cutting surface
  • X-Acto® knife
  • Clear tape
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Download individual fonts of your choice, enlarge them to 11" tall and cut them out.
  2. Trace each letter onto a different decorative sheet.
  3. Use the X-Acto® knife or scissors and straight edge to cut out each letter.
  4. Use the X-Acto® knife or scissors and straight edge to cut out each black letter slightly larger than the decorative letter.
  5. Once each letter and black backing letter have been cut out, tape the two letters together.
  6. Unroll the spool of each ribbon. Use each color.
  7. Place the folded letters over the ribbon, one word for each color.
  8. If needed, tape the letters in place on the backside of the decorative letter.

 

Trick or Treat Hatbox Bowl

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1- Large paper Mache hat box
  • 1- Spool of floral aluminum wire
  • 1- Spool of Halloween decorative ribbon 3” wide
  • 1- Metal punch
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Copper acrylic paint
  • Silver acrylic paint
  • Medium size paintbrush
  • Blue painters tape
  • Wire cutter
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using the medium brush paint the entire paper Mache hatbox black. Let it dry.
  2. Once it is thoroughly dry use the painters tape to mask out stripes onto the box.
  3. Paint in between the painters tape with the copper paint.  Let it dry and then remove the tape.
  4. Make as many stripes as you would like.
  5. One inch from the top rim of the box, not the lid, use the metal punch and make a hole every inch around the box.
  6. Thread the aluminum wire through the holes making sure you go around the top of the box for each hole going from inside to outside of the box.  Once you get back to the beginning, tuck the end of the wire under the first loop and snip off the ends.
  7. On the inside top of the box hot glue the decorative ribbon to give a bit more height to the box and hide the edge of the box.
  8. Paint the lid with the silver paint to make a serving tray.

 

Trick or Treat Pumpkin Sign Holders

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2-5 small pumpkins
  • 1- Spool of aluminum wire
  • Pre-made chalkboard labels or card stock of your own
  • Wire cutters

DIRECTIONS:

  1. If the mini small pumpkins have leaves or come in a bunch, remove everything but the pumpkin.
  2. Cut a piece of wire about 10” long.
  3. Twist the wire into a curly looking stem. 
  4. At the end of the wire twist it to make a small circular disk to hold a place card.
