  • Bernat® Blanket™ (10.5 oz/300 g; 220 yds/201 m): Woodsy (A), 3 balls; Vintage White (B), 2 balls
 
  • DIRECTIONS:
    • MEASUREMENTS
    • Approx 48" x 60" [122 x 152.5 cm].

    • GAUGE
    • 8 sts and 13 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.
    • With A, cast on 97 sts. Do not join.
    • Working back and forth across needle in rows, knit 7 rows (garter st), noting first row is WS and inc 8 sts evenly across last row. 105 sts.
    • Proceed in Brick Pat as follows:
    • 1st row: (RS). With A, K4. *K1 wrapping yarn around needle twice. K3. Rep from * to last st. K1.
    • 2nd row: With B, P4. *Sl1P dropping extra loops. P3. Rep from * to last st. P1.
    • 3rd row: K4. *Sl1P. K3. Rep from * to last st. K1.
    • 4th row: K4. *yf. Sl1P. yb. K3. Rep from * to last st. K1.
    • 5th row: K2. *K1 wrapping yarn around needle twice. K3. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K1 wrapping yarn around needle twice. K2.
    • 6th row: With A, P2. *Sl1P dropping extra loops. P3. Rep from * to last 3 sts. Sl1P dropping extra loops. P2.
    • 7th row: K2. *Sl1P. K3. Rep from * to last 3 sts. Sl1P. K2.
    • 8th row: K2. *yf. Sl1P. yb. K3. Rep from * to last 3 sts. yf. Sl1P. yb. K2.
    • These 8 rows form Brick Pat, working 4 rows each with A and B throughout and carrying color when not in use loosely up side of work.
    • Cont in pat until work from beg measures approx 59" [150 cm], ending on a 4th row of Brick Pat. Break B.
    • Next row: (RS). With A, knit, dec 8 sts evenly across. 97 sts.
    • Knit 6 rows (garter st).
    • Cast off knitwise (WS).
    • Side edging: With RS facing and A, pick up and knit 121 sts evenly along side edge of Blanket.
    • Knit 6 rows (garter st).
    • Cast off knitwise (WS).
    • Rep along opposite side edge.
